not so pulsing Xenia

Hi,

This past weekend I purchased so puling Xenia for my tank. It seemed healthy at first but overnight it became limp and pulsed very little. what could be causing this problem. my ph is 8.3 the water temp is 80 f and they are housed under a 400 watt MH w/ 2 antinic 40 watt fls. there are no corals near the xenia nor has any creature been bothering to colony. I' m stumped. Can anyone help me out here?
